Learn about our approach to care, the patients we work with, and how to determine whether Functional Medicine Collaborative is the right fit for your health needs.

Who We Work With

At Functional Medicine Collaborative, we work with children and adults experiencing a variety of chronic, complex, and ongoing health concerns.

Many patients come to us after previous testing or treatment, while others are looking for a more individualized approach to understanding their health.

Our practitioners take time to review your medical history, symptoms, lifestyle, environment, and other factors that may be relevant to your health.

We commonly work with patients experiencing:

Care is individualized, and the services available may vary depending on the practitioner and the patient's needs.

When Another Type of Care May Be More Appropriate

Functional Medicine Collaborative provides individualized care for a variety of chronic and complex health concerns. However, our services are not a replacement for emergency medical treatment, routine primary care, or specialized medical services that may be needed for certain conditions.

Emergency & Urgent Medical Needs

We do not provide emergency or urgent care. Symptoms such as severe chest pain, significant difficulty breathing, signs of a stroke, or other potentially life-threatening concerns require immediate emergency medical attention.

Primary Care & Preventive Services

We encourage patients to maintain a relationship with a primary care provider for routine preventive care, vaccinations, health screenings, and management of medical needs outside the scope of our practice.

Specialty Medical Care

Some conditions require evaluation or ongoing management by specialists such as cardiologists, neurologists, gastroenterologists, psychiatrists, or other medical professionals. Our practitioners may recommend specialty evaluation when appropriate and can work alongside your existing healthcare team.

Care Outside Our Scope

If your health concerns require services or treatment that we do not provide, we will discuss whether another healthcare provider or type of care may be more appropriate for your needs.

How We Work With Your Existing Healthcare Team

Functional medicine can complement the care you receive from your primary care physician and other healthcare providers.

Our practitioners consider your existing diagnoses, medications, laboratory results, and treatment plans when developing individualized recommendations. When appropriate, we can coordinate with other members of your healthcare team to support a more comprehensive approach to your care.

We encourage patients to continue recommended medical treatment and discuss any proposed changes to medications or treatment plans with their prescribing providers.

What to Expect Before Your First Appointment

We understand that choosing a new healthcare provider is an important decision, especially when you're managing chronic or complex health concerns.
